I have a secret to tell but it is not the juicy kind. When my oldest son was born, I took TONS of pictures of him. I mean how could I not? He was just adorable! I quickly filled up my phone and memory cards with pictures of baby smiles and tiny baby details. But here comes the bad part; I cannot seem to find the photos now that the hectic season of first time parenthood has past. Can you imagine my anguish! I have searched and searched but I cannot seem to find the hard drive anywhere, I can’t even find the old phone I took the pictures with. Sadly, cloud storage was not a option back in that day.

Do you know why I never did anything with those photos? Here is the reality: it takes lots of time and effort to ensure those precious photos turn into something I can cherish for a lifetime. The process looks something like this; login to a website like Shutterfly, upload images, resize and edit them, choose the perfect image for my project…oops, baby is crying again. Return to choosing images, uhh… session timed out. I quit! Rinse and repeat for years to come. I've learned, the hard way, that the moment passes and precious images get lost.
